"Knowledge not shared and culture not shared is knowledge lost."

Elise Fowler was a long-term and well-known resident of Candia, NH. She believed strongly in sharing cultural information. "Knowledge not shared and culture not shared is knowledge lost". Elise was especially proud of her Pawnee heritage. Elise served as secretary and then vice chief of NHINAC for years. In honor of Elise, NHINAC voted to create a library of Native American books to help share cultural knowledge. NHINAC has collected over 100 titles to be housed at the Smyth Public Library and to be shared throughout New Hampshire via NH Inter Library Loan System.

NHINAC is made up of members of various tribal affiliations currently residing in New Hampshire. Our council strives to provide connection to Native American cultural traditions and teachings. Knowledge is shared during annual Pow Wows, held in May at Winnisquam Regional High school in Tilton, NH as well as one in July at Wells Harbor Community Park in Wells, Maine. Throughout the year local cultural teachings for communities are held in various locations. The council meets once a month on the second Sunday at the Epping American Legion, which is open to the public. Please contact NHINAC for further information.
